The Ukrainian Institute of Applied Psychology and Psychotherapy invites to the first in-person supervision intensive in Ukraine "Field Perspective in the Gestalt Approach" with the participation of a trainer from Norway - Hans Petter Frydenberg.

This is a unique opportunity to meet live with one of the leading teachers of Norsk Gestaltinstitutt and immerse yourself in the deep practice of supervision in an atmosphere of professional dialogue, exchange of experience and development.

WHAT IS THIS INTENSIVE ABOUT?

In the Gestalt approach, the therapist works not only with what is happening "inside" the client.

We look at the person in the context of their relationships, environment, culture, history and current situation.

The field perspective allows us to see the therapeutic situation more broadly - not to separate the client from his environment, but to explore
how the figure and the background, people and the environment mutually influence each other and shape what is happening “here and now”.

In supervision, such a perspective helps us to notice more.
“What is happening with the client?”
“What is happening between the client, the therapist and the environment?”
“What processes of the field affect therapy?”
“What do we not notice when we look only at individual experience?”

That is why the field perspective can open up new opportunities for understanding complex cases, therapeutic difficulties, the professional experiences of the therapist himself and the supervision process.

This intensive is an opportunity not only to gain new knowledge about the field perspective, but to explore it directly in supervisory work.

AT THE INTENSIVE YOU WILL HAVE THE OPPORTUNITY:

• to deepen your understanding of supervision in the Gestalt approach;
• to explore the field perspective as a way of seeing the therapeutic process;
• to learn to notice how the context, relationships, environment and current processes of the field affect the client, the therapist and the therapeutic situation;
• to explore how the field perspective can change the understanding of the therapeutic case and open up new interventions;
• to develop supervisory thinking skills and work with phenomena;
• to explore the role and functions of the supervisor;
• to get acquainted with different ways of conducting supervision;
• to work with the professional challenges of therapists and consultants;
• to explore complex cases not only through an individual perspective, but also through the interaction of the person and his field;
• to consider ethical issues and complex professional situations;
• to pay attention to what is happening in the supervisory field itself - between the supervisor, therapist, client and the context of work;
• gain new experience through live interaction with colleagues and an international trainer.

This intensive will be a meeting place for the Ukrainian Gestalt community with European experience in supervision and
the opportunity to learn directly from a representative of the Norwegian Gestalt tradition.

ABOUT THE TRAINER
Hans Petter Frydenberg is a Gestalt therapist, psychotherapist, supervisor.

He has been working with NGI since 2006 and is currently a teacher of NGI therapy and advanced training courses. Since 1996 he has been a Gestalt therapist in his own practice, working with therapy, guidance and coursework.
In 2003, under the auspices of NGI, he attended a course on research methodology with Dr. Ken Evans at the Sherwood Institute of Psychotherapy.
In 2004-2006 he studied Somatic Developmental Psychotherapy with Dr. Ruella Frank at the Center for Somatic Research, New York, USA, and from there he participated in postgraduate seminars in 2008-2010.
He also studied with Brid Keenan, Gestalt Center Belfast, Ireland; The Impact of Trauma – Two-Year Training Program, 2012-2014.
In 2016-2018 he studied with Margherita Spagnuolo Lobb, PhD and Gianni Francesetti, PhD, Instituto di Gestalt, Italy; Gestalt Therapy Approach to Psychopathology and Contemporary Disturbances.
Hans Petter is a member of NGF, EAGT, NFP and EAP and holds the European Certificate in Psychotherapy (ECP).

He works in the field perspective. Has significant experience as an environmental therapist with various tasks in the municipal psychiatric service, supervisor in the same service and child protection service.
